1st Shabbat of the Month - September - Travels of a Green Coffee Buyer

1ST SHABBAT OF THE MONTH

The Travels of a Green Coffee Buyer

Join us this month for a special 1st Shabbat with our very own Jeremy Torz, founder of Union Hand-Roasted Coffee. Jeremy has some incredible tales to tell from his travels around the globe, meeting fascinating communities in Central America, Ethiopia, and beyond. Ever wondered how your coffee makes it from a distant farm to your cup? Jeremy’s got the stories (and maybe a few secrets) to share!

Coffee and Conversation

After Jeremy’s talk, we’ll keep things casual with a Q&A session—think of it as a friendly chat over coffee, but with someone who’s actually picked the beans. Got a burning question about coffee, travel, or life on the road? This is your chance!

Central American Kiddush (with a Coffee Twist!)

To keep the theme rolling, we’ll be serving up a Central American-inspired kiddush. Expect delicious treats like Empanadas and Chicken Tortilla Soup. And, because we just couldn’t resist, we’re adding in Tiramisu—because what’s a coffee-themed meal without a little coffee dessert, right?

Children’s Service

At 11 AM, we’ll have a fun and engaging children’s service, so your little ones are well taken care of while you kick back, relax, and enjoy the morning.

1st Shabbats is all about community and connection. We’d love for you to join us—just let us know you’re coming!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
